Supporting Community Wellbeing in Broome

Broome Therapy Dogs is a self-funded community initiative dedicated to providing free therapy dog visits to people in need across the Broome community.

Our visits create meaningful moments of connection for people who may benefit from companionship, calm interaction and emotional support. This includes:

  • Older adults
  • Children and teenagers
  • People experiencing loneliness or social isolation
  • Individuals living with illness or disability
  • People managing mental health challenges
  • Community groups and workplaces seeking wellbeing support

In addition to providing therapy dog visits, Broome Therapy Dogs also conducts fundraising activities that support four Broome-based charities working in the areas of children, women, men and animal welfare.

Community Impact & Vision

Broome Therapy Dogs has been established with the aim of building a trusted community wellbeing service for the Broome region.

Our goal is to provide regular therapy dog visits across a wide range of community settings including:

  • Aged care facilities
  • Schools and youth programs
  • Health and disability support services
  • Community groups and workplaces
  • Individuals experiencing difficult life circumstances

Over time, we hope to expand the reach of the service and explore opportunities to bring therapy dog visits to other communities across the Kimberley region.

With the support of sponsors and community partners, Broome Therapy Dogs can continue growing its impact while remaining a free service for those who need it most.

Community Therapy Dog Partners

Organisations may choose to support the work of one of our therapy dogs.

Our dogs — including Paddy and Molly — play a central role in creating positive and memorable experiences for the people we visit. Sponsors may be recognised as a Community Therapy Dog Partner, helping make these visits possible.

 👉 Meet our therapy dogs

This form of partnership creates a strong and positive connection between the sponsor, the therapy dog and the community.

We welcome sponsorship partnerships with organisations and businesses that share our commitment to community wellbeing.

Sponsorship arrangements can be tailored to suit individual organisations and may include opportunities such as:

🐾 Recognition in email communications

🐾 Acknowledgement at community events and activities

Founding Sponsors

Broome Therapy Dogs is in its early stages, and we are grateful to the organisations and individuals who choose to support the initiative during this formative period.

Organisations that provide significant sponsorship support may be recognised as Founding Sponsors, acknowledging their role in helping establish and grow the service.

Founding Sponsors may receive additional recognition across Broome Therapy Dogs communications and materials, reflecting their early support for the initiative.
